I am currently using the Paper theme for this Weebly blog o'mine. The existing archives list on this theme (and potentially on others), is vertical. I feel like it takes up more screen real estate than necessary. I set myself a little HTML/CSS mission to see if I could code a way to make the list horizontal instead

Why Would I Want To Do That?I have a 3DS but it doesn't feel realistic to buy all the games I want to try on it. With this method, I can try before I buy. Also, I already have an iPad, so that's no additional cost. And it feels pretty comfortable to game on the iPad.

GoodNotes 5 came out recently. There weren’t a lot of shocking changes from the previous version, but a simple steady improvement on what made the original app great. Some of the most useful features in this version include line snapping, better text controls, and an assortment of new templates. Today I’ll be looking at recreating a popular paper planner in GoodNotes.
15/8/2018 2 Comments Tax With Me: Part 2If you haven't already read part 1 of this series, find it here: https://jess-ambers-blog.weebly.com/home/tax-with-me-doing-an-australian-tax-return-in-2018
Introduction, AKA I'm just a kid!!!...I'm 25 years old this year. So most people would not hesitate to call me a legal adult. But getting that feeling of being a competent adult is much harder. When I consider one of the most 'adulty' things an adult can do, tax is pretty high up on the list. Keeping rigorous track of money and informing the government of it each year? Doesn't sound like a barrel of laughs. But today I have the motivation to learn a bit more, and to fill in my tax return, so we are going to learn together!
I make downloadable journal covers for the GoodNotes app (which can be used in other apps, considering they are just PNG files). I like journals with rounded corners, and attempt to emulate that in my designs. However, once the covers are imported, they don't look exactly as I would like. The notebook covers in have a very defined bounding box with square corners and a drop shadow, that is visible no matter what type of graphic you import. There is also no support for transparent templates. Any such image would have the transparent areas turned white. You can see this effect in the following image.
I've been using GoodNotes, the note taking app on iPad, for a few months now. It's been my favourite app for use when studying, planning art and business projects, and for use as a personal diary. I've even been producing products like digital journal covers for this app, and selling them on Etsy. Which is what brings up the issue I want to discuss today - the impact of image scaling in GoodNotes.
