a small rabbit with big dreams
Hello there. Thanks for wanting to find out who the heck I am. I've had more internet aliases than hot meals: JADgirl, JadedJester, puremorphin. But let's keep things simple. Call me Jess! I'm an Australian freelance artist who's currently shacked up on the Central Coast of NSW, on the waterfront of picturesque Lake Macquarie. I spend most of my time playing video games, binge-watching Survivor, and chipping away at being my own boss.
To explain my blog, I'd like to tell you a little story about an interest of mine: The Secret, AKA the law of attraction. I discovered The Secret through watching the Oprah special on it. I was spellbound. I needed a copy of this book! I looked in all the local shops, to no avail. Then, unrelatedly, I volunteered at a St Vincent De Paul op shop. In the back room, on a shelf at eye level, was a copy of The Secret! And, the supervisor let me have it for free! I loved the book. When I was done reading it, I gave it to a boy so they could read it too. But then I got dumped, and couldn't get the book back.
Heartbroken and needing guidance, I looked around in every op shop I could find for another copy of the book. A lot of time passed, and my painful need weakened. And this is where things get spooky. I went to a garage sale, and I found a copy of The Secret to Teen Power in among the books! Of course I immediately grabbed it, and was so happy! Sure, it wasn't the main book, but it was something new, and very close to what I was looking for. And being only 22 at the time, I thought it would still be relevant to me.
That same day, I went to another garage sale. And you wouldn't believe it…I found a copy of the DVD of The Secret! I manifested this! This was the first time I felt my power as a person who had control over their own life. And I haven't forgotten that moment. I wrote it down so I could always reflect on it.
I think this story is applicable to how I seek to live my life. I have my eyes focused on the things I want, I try to let go of all the little voices telling me why I can't or shouldn't have it. When I do finally let go, it will come to me.
This blog is about manifestation, even though I haven't written any posts about it. It's a manifestation of my will to be an artist, a programmer, a helper for people. To dabble (sometimes a bit too much!), try new things and be good at them! To carve out a nice little living for myself using my skills and resources, and to show people how I do that, so they may manifest their own lovely little life too.
I hope you find something on this blog that sparks your interest. And if you want to see some of the arty stuff I get up to, I post pretty regularly on my Instagram.
You are loved.
xx Jessica
