4/5/2018 0 Comments Quickie Fried RiceI'm pretty lazy sometines when it comes to food. One of my lunchtime staples is Tilda microwavable rice (specifically the coconut, chili and lemongrass variant). Bit of coconut oil, toss in some shredded chicken or cherry tomatoes, and I'm happy. Today, I decided I wanted a fake fried rice. So here's what I did.

4/5/2018 0 Comments ICTICT509 Part 2Herein lies more notes on this unit, including scope management and collecting requirements.
The confirmation came through yesterday, and today I begin my biggest course to date, a Diploma in Web Development offered through OTEN, AKA Open Training and Education Network, AKA Tafe Digital. It's looking much more guided and involved than my previous course through tafeNow.
I found a pair of red shoes with a low heel at an op-shop for just $2 AUD. Plus they are red, PLUS they are comfortable and have a sensible heel?! What a win!
So I've been doing the TAFE unit ICTWEB411, regarding writing client-side scripts. The assignment for this unit was to create a Mortgage Calculator to their specifications. This included varying interest rates based on the principal, calculating based on different repayment periods (monthly, weekly, ect). Default values. Automatic updating. And it had to resemble a screenshot they provided. It was challenging, but I did it!
27/2/2018 0 Comments KonMari-ing: YarnsI've had a huge yarn collection for many years. I love collecting every variation of a colour and coming up with nice colour schemes. I find crochet....somewhat relaxing (counting stitches is a little bit of a drag).
But... I don't do crochet nearly enough to justify the size of my collection. 23/2/2018 0 Comments KonMari-ing: GuitarsI got my first guitar in 2013, the year after finishing high school. It started off as a present for my sister, but she had little interest at the time in learning the instrument, so I decided to give it a shot. Five years, some lessons and a lot of ultra tabs later, and I’ve built up a collection of five guitars (I’ve owned even more than this, these are just the ones I still have and like). Only problem is, I do not play guitar professionally or often enough to justify this number.
I’ve been doing the KonMari thing on and off for the past several months, and have renewed my interest in a more minimal bedroom environment. Considering my guitars ar stowed away in the closet, it seems I have enough physical distance to gain some clarity about what I should keep or not. In 2016 I did a drawing of a witchy version of my original character Emilia. I was particularly inspired by an artist called Fukari, who had just produced a witch drawing herself.
Mum has done an experiment or two with acrylic pouring, which got me interested in that art form. I like how it doesn’t require such an intensity of thought as other art, it’s more about intuition and luck and being peaceful. So I decided to give it my first shot!
I was at home, in the living room, minding my own business, when the big red blanket caught my eye. Its summer in Australia and yet that slightly smelly woolly mass was still here, sitting on a faux wooden chest and generally getting on my nerves. So I decided to find a home for it, preferably in the linen cupboard.
