Creating a listing on freelance service provider Fiverr can be an arduous experience, especially if its your first ever listing. There's several screens of data you have to fill out, from descriptions to pricing to FAQs. Writing it can take hours, and who wants to take the chance of writing out all that data, just for the internet to disconnect and you lose your progress?
That's why I decided to make a helpful tool for you aspiring artistic freelancers, where you can plan out your Fiverr descriptions in a clearly laid out Excel spreadsheet. Not only will the text be easy to save and copy into Fiverr, but you can then easily duplicate and modify your listings, changing just the necessary parts of your text to make a whole new related listing (which is a key part of being successful on Fiverr - offering many similar but distinct services in your wheelhouse). I created and used this template for my Fiverr portraiture gig, and it saved me a lot of stress.
Here's a sneak preview of what the Excel file contains...
Section 1: Metadata
The first section is where you can enter things like the gig's title, category and subcategory, metadata (which for Portrait and Caricature gigs consists of Illustration Type and Style), and five search tags.
Section 2: Tiers
Section 2 is where you'll differentiate your three tiers of product: Basic, Standard, and Premium. For each you'll specify name, description, delivery time, number of revisions and figures. You'll also give a yes or no on whether you'll offer a source file (like a Photoshop or Illustrator layered file), high resolution (A3 at 300dpi or higher), backgrounds, full colour, fully body, and commercial licence. And most important of all, the price!
Section 3: Gig Extras
Section 3 is where you can specify extras. For example, all three of your project tiers may specify No for Color, but you may offer Color as an extra that a potential buyer can add to their order, for an additional $10 and 2 days. You can also designate custom extras, which is great for aspects of an artwork not already covered by the provided extras. For example, you could make a custom extra called 'Shading and Highlights'.
Section 4: Description and FAQs
Section 4 is huge. This is your main gig description. In 1200 characters you need to convince someone to buy this product from you! Because of how Excel doesn't really expect multi-paragraph text, this section is broken into different lines for each paragraph you write, with a word count for each. This gets added up at the bottom of the section. No more hastily rewriting a description to squeeze a few more characters out!
After description we also have the Frequently Asked Questions section, which is pretty straight forward. Write down what people are asking you, and what the answer is. Section 5: Requirements
Lastly we have Section 5 for writing down the requirements for you gig. That is, what information do you need to get from your client to produce a quality artwork? Each requirement has to be under 450 words.
There's one more bonus in this file. Alongside the blank template, there is a filled-in template, which is the information I used for my first Fiverr listing! If you're stuck on what sort of information you're meant to put in any of the boxes, this'll help you out. Download the Excel file using the link below:
